Chile

Just finished setting up the stage in a bloody big sports arena in Santiago. We're staying in the Sheraton which is a little too posh for us in my opinion, particularly since our trip from the airport took us past many shanty towns. The weather has been beautiful - warm and sunny - though our promoter assures us that it's supposed to be cold and global warming is to blame. In light of recent events over the Atlantic everyone's feeling a little nervous about the fourteen hour flight to Madrid tomorrow. A few ales before take-off might be in order.

It's just what I'd love to do: seeing the world and spending some time with a great band, listening to good music and having a lot of fun! How can I get such a job? The other thing is that I'd really love to see them again! I know I've been moaning about it in all my comments... Hope you are able to forgive me :P I just need to find a way to make them tour more around Europe - not just Spain :) And, at the same time, maybe I would be able to meet you, as I've been following your blog for quite a while.
Anyway, thank you for posting all that! Do you ever read thoce comments?
Have fun :)

I heard that it was because of "la niƱa"... but its true, It should be very cold. By shanty towns you mean all those really poor houses by the river from the airport to the "actual" city? If thats the case i dont see why compare that to the sheraton. Im from santiago and i only see that stuff when going to the airport. Its not like they are all over the place. Hope you had a good time, though. I saw you onstage a few years ago and now i read that you played like 4 days ago and i missed it. Dammit!

Regarding fdo M's comment - I don't like opulence at the best of times, particularly when you know there's poverty on your doorstep. That was my point.
